For those who do not know the history of David Berkowitz,
we give a small summary of who he is.
In 1975, in New York City, the people were terrorized by
a series of shootings. Six people were dead and seven people were seriously injured for life.
The killer wrote a letter to the police, and to a newspaper
columnist, taunting authorites with threats, declaring himself to be a servant of the devil, and calling himself the "Son
of Sam".
What the police did not understand at the time was, that
the name "Sam" referred to Samhain, which is the chief demon associated with the Satanic worship at Halloween, which is
known as the "devil's new year".
The papers called him the "44 caliber killer", because a
44 caliber bulldog revolver was used in the shootings.
When he was finally captured, he was sentenced to six
consecutive life terms, and is presently incarcerated in the maximum security Sullivan Correctional Facility in upstate
New York.
After serving ten years in prison, he was told of the love
of Jesus Christ for his soul, by another inmate who had
found the peace and forgiveness for his own soul.
David began to read the psalms, and found them to be full
of beauty, and relevance to his own condition.
He read the verse, "this poor man cried, and the Lord delivered
him out of all his troubles"
The Holy Spirit touched his heart, and he heard the voice
of the Lord urging him to "talk things over". So he got down on his knees, all alone in his small prison
cell, and began to talk to Jesus of the pain in his heart.
He told Jesus he was sorry for all the horrible things he
had done. He did not want to live anymore. He poured out the pain of his soul as he "cried on the shoulder of
Jesus".
And Jesus broke the chains around
David's mind and soul, forgave him of all his sins,
even the horrible murders, and the demon worship that had caused them. He put the Holy Spirit inside him, and washed
his soul clean, and made a whole new man.
David has been serving the Lord, rejoicing in the forgiveness
of Jesus Christ, since 1987. Even in a maximum security prison, he serves the Lord with joy and peace in the midst of
prison termoil and hardship.
For the past several years, he has been writing a Journal.
He shares this Journal with his friends.
His friends put the Journal on the internet, that the glorious
news of Jesus Christ and His Salvation shall reach the world.
The world knows of the horror of his crimes.
The world also knows of the glory of his deliverance from Hell and damnation. Let all who read these pages hear the
voice of Jesus to their own souls, and receive the same salvation that David has recived from the Hand of Jesus Christ, our
only Redeemer.
